Our History
Lampros Energy is built on the foundation of several decades of successful and hands-on experience of its principal promoters in the international commodity trading business. Leveraging their background in international banking, trade finance and risk management, the promoters of Lampros Energy have facilitated numerous bulk shipments of metals and mineral ores (particularly Iron Ore and Bauxite) from India to China in first decade of 2000s. Building on this invaluable experience, the promoters have proceeded to develop strong business relationship with numerous independent and organized commodity traders around the world. The promoters have now brought together a team of highly ambitious individuals, with diverse yet complementary experience, under the common umbrella of Lampros Energy to shape our common vision into reality.
Our Working Process
Professionalism, diligence and simplicity form the backbone of our working process. Our carefully devised Standard Operating Procedures ensure that (1) the commercial terms of the transaction are subjected to a thorough diligence exercise before being presented to the principal parties; and (2) the principal parties are rigorously vetted before any transaction is initiated. As deal facilitators, we are always sensitive to the needs and requirements of our clients and believe that a direct channel of communication between the principal parties is the most effective manner to conclude trade deals.
Our Outlook
At Lampros Energy, we intend to harness the enormous potential of international commodity trading. Although the business has been dominated at the top by a handful of big commodity trading houses, the market size and depth provide ample scope for an organized commodity trader with dynamic vision, technical expertise and a refined approach to flourish. We believe we are equipped with all the right ingredients to become a significant player in the business.
The increasing pace of industrialization in the emerging economies of Asia and Africa has created a strong demand for several commodities required by their industries. Despite the recent slowdown in the world economy, the burgeoning markets of China and India are continuing to grow at a healthy rate while the comparatively smaller economies of Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines are also making rapid strides forward. The gradual onset of political stability in several African countries is expected to give a strong impetus to the commodity trading business in the very near future. We believe our strategic location gives us the distinct advantage to understand the peculiarities of the Asian and African markets and develop effective strategies to exploit the manifold trading opportunities on offer.
