Taraprasad or TP (as he is known to his business associates and friends) is the Chief Executive Officer of Lampros Energy and the chief architect of the blueprint of the Company’s business. Recognized as a visionary leader, he has donned many hats in his professional career spanning over three decades. During his stint as a banker in a major public sector bank for close to a decade, he gained valuable hands-on experience in international banking and trade operations, developed his expertise in commercial law and credit appraisal and eventually headed the foreign exchange department of the bank for several years. He subsequently worked for a few years in IFB Industries Ltd which was, at that time, a blue-chip Indian company having offices in several locations around the world. His experience as a senior level executive overseeing finance and import & export divisions of the company helped him refine his commercial acumen. He quit a lucrative position in the company to start his entrepreneurial journey which continues till date.

As an independent financial consultant, he has helped kick-off many business ventures with astute advise on fund raising strategy. As a professional trade consultant, he has facilitated numerous bulk shipment of commodities (particularly Iron Ore and Bauxite) from India to China. He then proceeded to diversify his interest in the commodity trading business by setting up his own independent business outfit under the banner of ‘Interact India’. During this period, he travelled extensively around the world establishing business connections in West Africa, Europe, US, China and Hong Kong, expanding his knowledge and developing expertise in the international trading practices and procedures for a wide range of commodities, including metals, mineral and precious commodities. Over the past decade, he has shifted his focus to the international oil trading business and has gained valuable experience and expertise in the field through his initial forays as a broker and facilitator of fuel trade transactions. With an advanced, in-depth knowledge of global fuel trading operations and having developed a vast network of professional contacts in the business situated all around the world, he is uniquely positioned to strategically guide the Company towards its long term goals.

As the Chief Executive Officer of Lampros Energy, he is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Company’s long term business strategy. His principal focus is on identifying potential business opportunities, structuring transactions and supervising deal execution. He also directly controls the financial planning and management of the Company and is currently leading the Company’s effort to raise funds for its various trading programmes.
